Stucco
Plaster-like material that can be put either on masonry or frame walls with no joints or seems, available in many colors. It will usually be applied in three coats with a total thickness of ¾ of an inch. The common process of application is wrapping the existing house frame with tar paper and chicken-wire, applying scratch cement on top of the chicken-wire and once the scratch cement is cured, a brown coat is applied. The final stucco color coat is applied in the desired color and finish. In order to reduce the cracking of the scratch coat, a stucco wrap (membrane like material) that may be used before applying the scratch coat. The stucco wrap creates a drainage path for water and moisture to escape. The stucco finish is highly common and considered very durable and low maintenance.
